In the US, the House of Representatives passes the 2025 defense budget

The Lower House of the United States Congress has passed the annual defense policy bill for the next year, 2025. The bill provides for $883.7 billion.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to The Hill.

The document was sent to the Senate for consideration and approval before the end of the Congress' term in late December.

The bill, the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), received 281 votes in favor and 140 against in a bipartisan vote in the House.

At the same time, the American newspaper notes that 200 Republicans and 81 Democrats “joined forces to push it over the finish line.”

Earlier, over the weekend, US congressional leaders unveiled a massive $883.7 billion package that includes

  • a 14.5% pay raise for junior military personnel,
  • and a 4.5% increase for all other military personnel.
