This afternoon, an enemy shelling took place in the frontline area, severely damaging the equipment of a thermal power plant. As a result of the shelling, two power units were shut down, which led to a temporary shortage of electricity in the grid.
This was reported by the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.
The ministry's press service appealed to consumers to support the power sector. Now it is especially important to use electricity rationally and treat its consumption with care, especially during peak load hours, the ministry said.
No information has yet been provided on when the affected TPP units will resume operation. Work is currently underway at the scene to determine the extent of the damage and investigate the circumstances of the incident. The Ministry of Energy urges the public to remain calm and indicates that all possible measures will be taken to restore the power supply in the region as soon as possible.
