Turkey has admitted that President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will meet with Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin in Kazakhstan.

According to Yevropeiska Pravda, this was stated by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, quoted by AFP.

According to him, Erdogan is "likely" to meet with Putin in Kazakhstan "in the next few days."

In a comment to the agency, the Turkish Foreign Ministry clarified that this refers to a possible meeting between Erdogan and Putin in Astana during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit, which will take place on July 3-4.

The last time Erdogan and Putin met was in September 2023 in Sochi, Russia.

The Turkish foreign minister visited Russia in early June, where he attended the BRICS meeting and was received by Putin and Sergey Lavrov.
