Estonians are again asked not to travel to Russia

Nov 30, 2023

On Thursday, Estonia once again warned its citizens against "any travel" to Russia amid plans to temporarily close the border due to fears of an influx of migrants.

This was reported by AFP.

The Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the country "may temporarily close its border crossings as soon as possible due to potential migration pressure" from Russia.

The Ministry advised Estonians to "consider staying in Russia and returning to Estonia if possible."

Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsakhkna separately told reporters that "it is clearly recommended not to travel to Russia anymore."

"If Estonia temporarily closes its border, those who are in Russia at that time will not be able to return," he added.
