The European Union should impose wider restrictions on imports of Russian aluminum.
This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to Reuters.
The European Aluminum industry group believes that the current proposal to ban certain products will have only a limited effect.
EU members are currently discussing the European Commission's proposal for the 12th package of sanctions, which would include bans on imports of diamonds and liquefied propane, as well as measures designed to strengthen the introduction of price restrictions on Russian oil.
It also includes a ban on aluminum wire, pipes, and tubes, but these account for only 12% of the EU's aluminum imports from Russia.
