Finland decides to terminate bilateral agreement with Russia

The Council of State of the Republic of Finland has issued a resolution terminating bilateral border cooperation with Russia. A month earlier, the Kremlin announced such steps.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the press service of the Finnish government.

Helsinki has invalidated the resolution on the implementation of the agreement between the governments of Finland and Russia on the development of border cooperation between the countries. The termination of the agreement will take effect on February 24, 2024.

The agreement was in force since 2012. It was aimed at promoting cross-border cooperation between the countries.
