How many F-16s can Ukraine receive in 2024
Ukraine may receive 14 F-16 fighters as early as 2024. The delivery of Mirage-2000 is expected next year.
This was stated by Oleksandr Musienko, head of the Center for Military Legal Studies, in a commentary to RBC-Ukraine.
According to him, at the first stage, Ukraine can use F-16 fighters to drive away Russian aircraft and strike ground targets.
"I think we will soon be able to have up to 10 aircraft and possibly up to 14 by the end of the year," the expert predicted.
At the same time, some tasks will be performed by Mirage-2000s, which France has promised. They are likely to be provided no earlier than early 2025, Musienko added.
The expert noted that if the allies fulfill their plans to supply F-16 fighters to Ukraine, then in 2026-2027, about 130 units may be transferred in total. In this case, Ukrainian pilots will have complete air superiority.
