Iran is preparing an attack on Israel. It is planned to use more powerful warheads and “other” weapons that were not used during previous attacks.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to The Times of Israel and The Wall Street Journal.
An Egyptian official told the WSJ that Tehran had privately warned Cairo that its response to the Israeli strikes on October 26, which were in response to the Islamic Republic's ballistic missile attack on October 1, would be “tough and comprehensive.”
“Our military has lost people, so they need to respond,” the Iranian official said.
He added that Iran could use Iraqi territory for part of the operation and would likely target Israeli military targets, “but much more aggressively than last time.”
According to Iranian and Arab officials, Iran does not plan to limit its response to missiles and drones, as it did in the two previous attacks. In addition, any missiles used will have more powerful warheads.
There is also the timing of the response. According to an Iranian official, Iran does not want to influence the US elections with its attack, so the response will be after the vote on Tuesday, November 5, but before the inauguration of the new president in January.
The WSJ also added that according to US intelligence, Iran prefers Kamala Harris to become US president, not Donald Trump.
