Israel confirms elimination of new Hezbollah leader

The Israeli Defense Forces confirmed that on October 4, an air strike on Beirut killed the head of Hezbollah's executive council, Hashim Safi al-Din, who probably succeeded Hassan Nasrallah after his liquidation.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the Times of Israel.

Together with Safi al-Din, the head of the organization's intelligence unit, Hussein Ali Hazim, was killed.

The target of the strike was Hezbollah's clandestine intelligence headquarters in Beirut.

According to the IDF, at the time of the strike, more than 25 members of Hezbollah's intelligence unit, including senior commanders, were in the headquarters.
