The Israeli army reserve forces are withdrawing a significant number of weapons, missiles and launchers from the area of southern Lebanon. This indicates successful attacks and a significant reduction in the potential of the Hezbollah group in the region.
This was stated by the Chief of the General Staff of the Israeli Defense Forces, Herzi HaLevi, RBC-Ukraine reports citing the IDF Telegram channel.
On Tuesday, November 12, he assessed the situation in southern Lebanon together with the commander of the Northern Command, Lieutenant General Ori Gordin, the commander of the 91st Division, Lieutenant General Shai Kalper, and other commanders.
HaLevy also addressed the reserve commanders and soldiers operating in the sector.
He noted that the IDF had deprived Hezbollah of significant combat capabilities by eliminating Hassan Nasrallah and “members of the organization's Jihad Council,” “commanders of its units and various sectors, units, formations and many fighters.”
HaLevy also called the withdrawal of a significant number of weapons, rockets and launchers from the area “very important.”
“At the same time, the IDF is acting very powerfully. We have carried out powerful strikes against Hezbollah targets in Beirut, Dahiyeh and other places. We are conducting deep strikes, often in Syria and along the Syrian-Lebanese border, to prevent the transfer of weapons to Hezbollah. Clearing this area will provide the basic conditions to do the right thing and really guarantee security in the lower part of this valley,” said HaLevy.
