Japan extends sanctions against Russia

The Japanese government has imposed new sanctions on Russian individuals and defense companies. A total of 11 people and 42 companies were included in the list.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan.

"In connection with the current international situation around Ukraine and in order to promote international efforts to achieve international peace aimed at resolving the problem, in accordance with measures taken by other major countries, the Japanese government has introduced such measures in accordance with the Law on Currency and Foreign Trade," the statement said.

Thus, the Japanese restrictions have been imposed on Tactical Rocketry Director General Boris Obnosov, Uralvagonzavod Director General Alexander Potapov, Soyuz General Designer Mkrtich Okroyan, Central Election Commission Secretary Natalia Budarina, Central Election Commission members Elmira Khaymurzina, Alexander Kurdyumov, and Anton Lopatin.

In addition, Tokyo imposed sanctions against the so-called "head of the Ministry of Education" of the occupied part of Zaporizhzhia region, Olena Shapurova.

The sanctions also apply to companies such as Alrosa, Krympatriotcenter, and defense companies, including Uraltrasmasch, NPO Kurganprylad, ChTZ-Uraltrak, Nizhny Novgorod 70th Anniversary of Victory Plant, Degtyarev Plant, Devayis Consulting, Oboronlogistika, Kompel, Orelmetallpolymer, and VNIIR-Progress.
