NATO countries must do more than just help Ukraine stay in the fight

NATO countries need to step up their assistance to Ukraine in the war against Russia. Just helping the Ukrainian Armed Forces stay in the fight is not enough.

This was stated by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, RBC-Ukraine reports citing Reuters.

“We have to reaffirm our commitment to the course of the war, and we have to do more than just 'keep' Ukraine in the fight. We have to raise the price for (Russian dictator Vladimir - ed.) Putin and his authoritarian threats by providing Ukraine with the support it needs to change the trajectory of the conflict,” Rutte said at a press conference with French President Emmanuel Macron.

At the same time, the Secretary General pointed out that Russia, which cooperates with China, Iran and North Korea, threatens peace and security not only in Europe but also in the Indo-Pacific region and North America.

In turn, the French leader emphasized that he would insist that Ukraine continue to receive as much assistance as needed.

“This is the only way to negotiate, and I want to make it clear that when the time comes, nothing should be decided on Ukraine without Ukrainians and on Europe without Europeans,” Macron said.
