Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has called for a review of the European Union's support for Ukraine in light of a possible change in the US position after Donald Trump's election victory.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to Reuters.
According to Orban, Europe cannot finance the war alone, and the United States can stop supporting the conflict.
“The Americans will stop this war, first of all, they will not encourage it,” Orban, a close ally of Trump, said in an interview before the EU leaders' summit in Hungary.
The Hungarian prime minister emphasized that the situation needs to be adapted.
“Europe cannot finance this war alone... Some people still want to continue to send huge amounts of money to this lost war, but the number of those who are silent... and those who cautiously argue that we must adapt to the new situation is growing,” he said.-
Orban also called for an immediate ceasefire and peace talks between Kyiv and Moscow, which was strongly rejected by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
