Poland will install the first fortifications on the border with Russia and Belarus in the coming days. These will be fortifications.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to Polish Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysh on ZET radio.
According to him, the first fortifications under the Eastern Shield project will be installed on Poland's eastern border by the country's Independence Day, November 11. Kosiniak-Kamysh clarifies that these will be fortifications that prevent the movement of enemy troops - reinforced concrete hedgehogs, terrain preparation.
The minister also noted that Poland is accelerating the process of army transformation, and the fight against drones will be intensified on the eastern border.
“We are creating unmanned troops. The General Staff is ready to create a command of unmanned troops, the entire component,” Kosiniak-Kamysh said.
He emphasized the need to arm the troops not only with aerial drones, but also with ground drones and underwater drones.
