On Tuesday, June 18, Latvian President Edgards Rinkēvičs visited the section of the border with Russia where fortifications are currently being built.

This is reported by Yevropeiska Pravda with reference to the press service of the Latvian president.

The President of Latvia paid special attention to the involvement of the National Armed Forces in strengthening the security of the country's eastern border.

"I highly appreciate the participation of the National Armed Forces in strengthening the eastern border. One of the very important things that needs to be done is the military reinforcement of the eastern border and the implementation of measures to counter mobility," Rinkēvičs said.
