Russia will not decide whether Ukraine joins NATO

NATO countries will not allow Russia to decide when Ukraine can join the Alliance.
This was stated by Norwegian Foreign Minister Anniken Guitefeldt, Reuters reports.
"Ukraine and NATO allies should decide when Ukraine will become a NATO member, not Moscow," she said.
The Norwegian foreign minister also added that Sweden should become a full member of NATO before the July summit of the Alliance.
"There is no reason to hold Sweden back," she said, adding that the country meets all the criteria.
