Jun 25, 2024

Amid tensions with neighbors across the Baltic Sea, the Russian military has practiced strikes on a detachment of warships of a simulated enemy.

Amid growing tensions with NATO countries that have access to the Baltic, the Russian Navy has conducted exercises in the Baltic Sea. Baltfleet ships practiced repelling an attack by drones and unmanned boats of a conventional enemy, as well as exercises on establishing electronic interference. This was reported on Monday, June 24, by the Russian media with reference to the press service of the fleet.

It is also noted that the Russian military practiced strikes on a detachment of warships of a simulated enemy. The Dimitrovgrad missile boat fired using the Moskit system.

The exercises took place a week after the Danish authorities announced the possibility of restricting the movement of Russian shadow fleet tankers in the Baltic Sea, which carry oil to circumvent Western sanctions.

Monday's drills were the second in the last month for the Russian navy in the Baltic Sea. On June 1, the Mozhaisk submarine fired torpedoes at a simulated enemy submarine.

And in late March, the crews of two Russian submarines in the Baltic Fleet rehearsed an underwater duel in a training exercise.
