Peskov's direct speech: “Putin's communication with Trump before the inauguration is not excluded. The Kremlin proceeds from the statements of the US president-elect.”

At the same time, he added that there were no contacts with Trump's campaign by Russian representatives, and no work is underway to organize a meeting between Putin and the US president.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Russia has never abandoned contacts with the United States.

“We have never refused to have contacts with anyone. President Putin emphasizes our position every time this topic comes up. Talking is always better than isolating ourselves from each other,” Lavrov said when asked about the prospects for contacts with the Trump team.
