Canada may provide Ukraine with the promised NASAMS air defense system by the end of the year. It was ordered back in 2023.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Telegram.
The head of the Ukrainian state said that he had a telephone conversation with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. In particular, the head of the Canadian government reaffirmed his support for Ukraine's victory plan.
The parties also discussed further cooperation in the organization of the second peace summit and the involvement of the countries of the Global South in such work.
“In addition, the Prime Minister announced the shipment of the first NASAMS air defense system ordered by Canada for Ukraine. We expect to receive it by the end of this year,” Zelenskyy wrote.
He added that the topics of the talks also included further defense support for Ukraine and the situation on the battlefield, including the involvement of North Korean soldiers in the war. Cooperation within the framework of Canada's presidency of the G7 was also coordinated.
