"On behalf of all Ukrainians, I would like to honor the courage and sacrifice of all Americans who have stood up to defend and continue to defend freedom. Your freedom endures because of those who fought for it. Our freedom will stand thanks to those who fight for it," Zelenskyy said.

The Ukrainian leader emphasized that "freedom is based on the bravery of the best of their kind" and on the readiness of young men and women who serve their people in the army to make their bravery the basis for the future of their nation.

The President pointed out that Ukrainians will always be grateful to the United States and every American for the extraordinary support that helps "reduce Russian tyranny to those who lost the fight for freedom."

"My special thanks on this Memorial Day go to all Americans: sons and daughters, fathers and mothers, brothers and sisters who have become warriors. To those whose strength turned into the power of freedom. Let our victory, the victory of Ukrainian soldiers, make this light brighter," Zelensky summarized.
