On Thursday, September 21, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived at the White House to hold a meeting and talks with US President Joe Biden.
The meeting of the leaders took place at the invitation of the head of the White House.
Volodymyr Zelensky was accompanied by First Lady Olena Zelenska. The Zelensky couple was met by Joe Biden and US First Lady Jill Biden.
The two leaders shook hands, took a few photos together, and proceeded to the presidential residence.
At the beginning of the meeting in the Oval Office, Zelensky reportedly thanked the United States for its help in the fight against Russian terror.
According to the plan released the day before by the White House, after the leaders talk in the Oval Office, the parties will hold talks in an expanded format.
Biden is expected to announce a new military aid package for Ukraine worth more than $325 million. It will preliminarily include air defense equipment. It will not include long-range ATACMS missiles, despite Ukraine's request.
As a reminder, on September 15, the media reported that Zelensky was planning to meet with Biden at the White House.
