After a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff on 15 April, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Western powers could help Ukraine defend itself against Russian attacks in the same way as they helped Israel during Iranian strikes.
He wrote about this on Telegram.
Zelenskyy noted that the protection of energy facilities in Ukraine is possible only if there is a sufficient number of air defense systems, and thanked the allies who responded to Ukraine's request.
"But the intensity of Russian attacks requires greater unity. By defending Israel, the free world has demonstrated that such unity is not only possible but also one hundred percent effective," the Head of State said.
"Decisive actions of the allies prevented the success of terror and the loss of infrastructure and made the aggressor cool down. The same is possible in defending Ukraine, which, like Israel, is not a NATO member, from terror. And this does not require the activation of Article 5, just political will," he added.
