On May 16, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a telephone conversation with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
The head of state wrote about it on Twitter (X).
Zelenskyy and Tusk discussed the situation in the Kharkiv region, where Russian forces have launched a new offensive, and Ukraine's need for air defense “to protect Kharkiv and other regions.”
According to the president, the two discussed the threat posed by Russia to gas infrastructure in western Ukraine and ways to counter it.
“We also instructed the teams to immediately start working on the text of the bilateral security agreement. Between historical partners, it should be as ambitious as possible,” Zelenskyy summarized.
