Zelenskyy met with Italian Prime Minister Meloni

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni to discuss the country's support for the air defense system.

The Head of State expressed gratitude to Italy for its continued support in the areas of military, financial, and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine.

The OP added that during the meeting, the parties discussed further steps in defense cooperation, in particular Italy's contribution to the development of the Ukrainian air defense system and the preparation of new defense projects. Zelenskyy conveyed Ukraine's current defense needs for long-range equipment and facilities.

The President and the Prime Minister discussed the upcoming Peace Summit in Switzerland and exchanged expectations from it. The parties noted the high activity of George Maloney in engaging the countries of the Global South to participate in the Summit.

They also discussed the implementation of joint projects to support the restoration of Odesa and the Odesa region. The President praised Italy's initiative to hold the next Ukraine Recovery Conference in Rome next year.
