About 1,200 hectares of the Kinburn Peninsula were flooded due to the undermining of the Kakhovka HPP dam.
This was announced by the Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Ruslan Strelets.
As a result, 30% of the nature reserve fund of the Kherson region is under threat of extinction:
"The water has leveled the Nizhnedniprovsky National Park like a water mirror. The water in the Velykyi Luh National Park is shoaling by 4.2 meters and the Kamianska Sich National Park by 6 meters. The Russian-occupied Oleshky Sands are threatened by rising groundwater," he said.
He said that environmental inspectors, national parks workers, water workers, and foresters continue to record evidence of the occupiers' crimes at the site of the environmental disaster and called on all witnesses to help the specialists and report them on the website and mobile application of the Ministry of Environment "EcoThreat".
