According to the organization, 43 of them are Palestinians, 4 are Israelis and 1 is Lebanese. Another 9 journalists were injured, 3 are missing, and another 13 were arrested.

"Journalists in Gaza face particularly high risks as they try to cover the conflict during the Israeli ground assault, including devastating Israeli airstrikes, disrupted communications, supply shortages, and extensive power outages," CPJ said.

The committee noted that most journalists were killed on the first day of the war – six. And on November 18, five were killed.

In early October, Hamas militants launched a large-scale invasion of Israel. They killed and kidnapped both soldiers and civilians. In response, Israel launched a military operation against the militants called Iron Swords.
