Jun 14, 2024

The day before, ammunition from the Solntsepyok system exploded in Shebekino, Belgorod region of the Russian Federation, killing three Russian soldiers, Russian Telegram channel Astra reports, citing sources.

The governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, said that "the causes of the incident are being established." Astra notes that he used exactly the same wording when a Russian fighter jet fell on Belgorod on May 4, injuring seven civilians.

According to Gladkov, no one was injured, and 10 private households and one car were damaged.

However, Astra's sources in the region's emergency services reported that ammunition from a Russian heavy flamethrower system Solntsepyok exploded in the evening in the suburbs of Shebekino. At least three Russian soldiers were killed in the explosion. The cause of the explosion is unknown, but according to preliminary data, it was "spontaneous".

As ASTRA previously reported, Russian VKS accidentally bombed Belgorod region and the occupied territories at least 93 times over the past 4 months. Almost four dozen more fallen bombs cannot be cleared in the so-called "DPR".
