A story about the cruise ship's call in Batumi on the eve of its departure from Sochi was filmed by the propaganda channel Rossiya 1. The material says that the stop in the Georgian port was added "at the request" of Russian and Turkish tourists. More than 800 people are on board the ship.

Tourists are offered to visit the sights in Batumi and taste local cuisine.

The Georgian Maritime Transport Agency said the day before that the arrival of the Astoria Grande cruise ship was commercial in nature. The liner is registered in Seychelles in the name of Goodwin Shipping Limited and is not subject to international sanctions.
