US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken held talks with Bulgarian Foreign Minister Maria Gabriel.
This was reported by State Department spokesman Matthew Miller, according to Yevropeiska Pravda.
The U.S. Secretary of State discussed with his Bulgarian counterpart "the need for further assistance to Ukraine from Allies and partners in the security sector."
In addition, Blinken and Gabriel spoke about the need for "continued efforts to diversify energy sources toward cleaner and safer supplies and technologies."
"The secretary of state and the foreign minister also discussed the importance of EU enlargement to ensure stability and prosperity in the region," Miller said.
