Jul 9, 2024

The new British Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, believes that the NATO summit in Washington is a chance for its members to send a signal to Russia after the latest massive missile strike on Ukraine.

Starmer told reporters before leaving for the summit, Sky News reports.

According to the British prime minister, the current NATO summit is "an opportunity for the Allies to unite, to strengthen their resolve, especially in light of this terrible attack (on Ukraine - Ed.), to resist Russian aggression."

"I'm pleased to have the opportunity to reaffirm and reiterate the strong support, the unwavering support of NATO from the Labour Party," he added.

Starmer emphasized that given the "horrific attack" on Ukraine, "the message is even more important now than before."
