China and UAE to hold first joint air force exercises

In August, China and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will hold joint air force exercises for the first time.
This was reported by the Chinese Ministry of Defense, Ukrinform reports.
According to the report, the exercises, called Falcon Shield-2023, will be held in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region in northwestern China in accordance with the annual plan of cooperation between the defense ministries of China and the UAE.
"This will be the first joint exercise of the Chinese and UAE air forces. They are aimed at deepening exchanges and cooperation between the militaries of the two countries and strengthening mutual understanding and trust," the Chinese Defense Ministry said.
The ministry did not disclose the timing, composition of participants, or other details of the maneuvers.
