China reacts to US election results

For the first time, China has reacted to the US presidential election results. Beijing hopes for further peaceful and mutually beneficial coexistence.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning, as quoted by The Paper.

At the briefing, the spokeswoman was asked about the impact of the US election results on China's foreign policy. She emphasized that China's policy toward the United States is consistent.

“We will continue to build Sino-US relations on the basis of the principles of mutual respect, peace, coexistence and mutually beneficial cooperation,” Mao said.

On the eve of Election Day in the United States, a Foreign Ministry spokeswoman was asked to comment on Donald Trump's promise to raise tariffs on Chinese goods. However, the Foreign Ministry spokesperson refused to comment on the Republican's statements.
