NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that China should be held accountable for supporting Russia's war against Ukraine.

In an interview with the BBC, he said that Beijing is "trying to sit on two chairs" by supporting Russia's military efforts and also trying to maintain relations with European allies.

"This cannot work in the long term," the NATO Secretary General said.

When asked what Allies could do in response to China's support for Russia, Stoltenberg said that "there are conversations" about possible sanctions.

According to him, China shares many technologies with Russia, including microelectronics, which is key to the creation of missiles and weapons used by the aggressor country against Ukraine.

"At some point, we have to consider certain economic measures if China does not change its behavior," he emphasized.

Stoltenberg added that Russia is increasingly joining authoritarian countries, including Iran, China and North Korea.

In addition, he noted that the DPRK has transferred artillery shells to Russia, and in return, Russia has provided advanced technologies for North Korea's missile and nuclear programs.
