The aid package combines a framework for financing significant donations to the Ukrainian defense industry, additional equipment to support the F-16 fighters provided by Denmark, and donations from the Danish defense ministry's own stocks.

"With the latest donation package, we are providing as much support as possible to meet Ukraine's needs on the battlefield here and now. But we also have a Danish security commitment to support Ukraine for the next 10 years.

That is why we have created a Danish model for donations to the Ukrainian defense industry, which will help to increase Ukrainian production of military equipment in the short and long term," commented Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen.

The assistance package includes a number of different procurement agreements with allies and donations from the defense industry of NATO member states. Among other things, it includes more equipment to support the F-16 fighter jets donated by Denmark.

In the last two aid packages, a total of 1.2 billion Danish kroner (about $117 million) was reserved for investments in the Ukrainian defense industry. The ministry noted that the new package makes it possible to distribute DKK 1.2 billion so that the Danish Ministry of Defense can quickly meet Ukraine's needs. The first project is expected to start in the summer.
