Polish President Andrzej Duda hopes that Ukraine will be invited to join NATO at the next summit of the Alliance.

He said this before a meeting of the Euro-Atlantic Council in Washington, D.C., according to a Yevropeiska Pravda correspondent.

He recalled his meeting with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy two days ago in Warsaw and noted that a formal invitation to NATO is extremely important for Ukraine and Zelenskyy.

"This summit will most likely not extend this invitation. But I hope and I will talk about it, that it will become a fact at the next NATO summit in The Hague," Duda said.

He emphasized that no one from outside has the right to block Ukraine's membership in the Alliance, and added that it should be a democratic decision of the Ukrainian people and allied countries.
