As a result of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the environment has been damaged by $57 billion.
According to Ukrinform, citing the Ministry of the Environment, this was announced by Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Ruslan Strilets during a meeting of the international working group on the environmental consequences of the war.
"Over the past 2.5 months, the amount of environmental damage has increased by almost $1.5 billion. Today it amounts to $57 billion. And these are not the final figures," he said in a statement.
According to the minister, work is currently underway to develop and implement a comprehensive plan for Ukraine's environmental recovery from the effects of the war.
