The President of Turkey told journalists on his way back from the UAE, Ukrinform reports regarding the Communications Directorate of the Turkish President's Administration.

"During my first trip to America, I met with the Jewish community there. They asked me about Hamas there 20 years ago. I said, "Hamas is not a terrorist organization... No matter what anyone says, I can never recognize Hamas as a terrorist organization," Erdogan said.

The President of Turkey emphasized that he cannot describe Hamas as a terrorist organization, and the US cannot expect this, as it has ties to the PKK, YPG, and FETO, which Turkey recognizes as terrorist organizations.

According to Erdogan, Turkey will demand that the leadership of Israel, in particular, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, receive punishment following the norms of international law on charges of genocide.

President Erdoğan also accused the Israeli prime minister of "constantly trying to justify his genocide with religious rhetoric", but "there is no religious basis for what they are doing".
