EU mission sees no escalation on Armenia's border with Azerbaijan

Apr 1, 2024

The European Union Mission to Armenia did not see any military activity while patrolling the border with Azerbaijan.

This is stated in the mission's message on Twitter (X).

According to the report, the mission's observers "did not record any unusual military movements".

"It was a calm and peaceful Easter Monday," the mission said.

In turn, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence has once again accused Armenia of concentrating military units and military equipment in different areas of the border.

The ministry claims that "newly constructed reinforced concrete fortifications house artillery systems and other assault weapons, as well as heavy firepower of the Armenian armed forces".
