France sends 50 Bastion armored vehicles to Armenia

Dec 4, 2023

France has sent 24 Arquus MK3 (VAB) armored frontline vehicles, known as Bastion, to Armenia, to be "joined by 26 other vehicles of the same type currently in production."

This is stated in a report by the French Senate, published as part of the financial bill for 2024, Le Figaro reports.

This report confirms the authenticity of several photos circulated on social media showing Bastion in the Georgian port of Poti. These vehicles were then delivered to Armenia by rail.

The senators' report also states that discussions are underway to supply Armenia with Mistral 3 air defense missile systems.

"In this regard, the rapporteurs recommend that the delivery of Caesar artillery systems be explored as soon as possible, given the effectiveness of this equipment and Nexter's new production capacity in 2024 (production has increased from 2 to 6 units per month, with possible peaks of up to 8)," the report says.
