Kamala Harris has destroyed Donald Trump's advantage in seven key states that traditionally determine the outcome of presidential elections.
This is evidenced by the latest Bloomberg News/Morning Consult poll, according to Yevropeiska Pravda.
The US Vice President is riding a wave of enthusiasm among young, black, and Hispanic voters.
In general, in the surveyed states - Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin - the gap between the candidates is within the statistical error. Harris was supported by 48% of voters against 47% for Trump.
However, Harris's performance is better than Biden's, who was two points behind Trump before he withdrew from the election. Harris outperformed her GOP rival in Arizona and Nevada and more than doubled Biden's lead over Trump in Michigan.
These figures suggest that Harris has a chance to assemble the coalition of voters that brought President Barack Obama to the White House and to chart a clearer path to victory than President Biden.
It's been a little over a week since Harris became the expected Democratic nominee, and the poll offers the first hints that the party's efforts to push the incumbent off the ballot are having the effect Democrats had hoped.
However, the race is still unpredictable and there is still a long way to go before the November elections.
