If the United States withdraws from NATO, the world will lose many countries that rely on America and the North Atlantic Alliance. In particular, Poland and the Baltic states.

This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, RBC-Ukraine reports citing the YouTube account of the Office of the President of Ukraine.

This was the head of state's answer to the question of whether he was afraid of Donald Trump's election to the US presidency.

"I don't know who will be the president of the United States. I hope that the United States will never leave NATO, because otherwise the world will lose a lot of countries. Because people like Putin... we will lose small states that count on America and NATO, American leadership. We will lose the Baltic countries, Poland and other countries that are very sensitive to this issue. And I hope that the United States will never seriously think about leaving NATO. I think so. But this is not my decision, I'm just sharing my thoughts with you," the president said during an interview at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy added that if US citizens vote for Trump, he hopes that the new American leader's policy toward Ukraine will not change.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy also said that he did not know whether Trump would be able to end the war in one day. He noted that they had good meetings, but they did not go through the war together. The President emphasized that it is during a war that you can understand whether you can count on someone.
