Indian Prime Minister makes statement on Ukraine during meeting with Putin

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on a two-day official visit to Russia, has made a direct call to end the war in Ukraine.

He made the statement during an informal meeting with Kremlin President Vladimir Putin, RBC-Ukraine reports citing NDTV.

According to him, it is impossible to find a solution on the battlefield.

"India has always called for respect for the UN Charter, including territorial integrity and sovereignty. There is no solution on the battlefield. Dialogue and diplomacy are the way forward," Modi said.

In addition, the Prime Minister expressed concern about Indian citizens who were "deceived by unscrupulous travel agents into joining the Russian army."

Sources said that Russia has pledged to repatriate all the victims.
