Japan has imposed trade restrictions on Chinese companies as part of a new round of sanctions against individuals and groups that support Russia's war in Ukraine.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to Reuters.
The new sanctions also target companies from India, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan.
According to the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this is the first time Japan has imposed sanctions on Chinese companies in connection with the war in Ukraine.
Among the companies sanctioned are Hong Kong-based Asia Pacific Links Ltd, which supplied microchips for Russian drones, and China's Yilufa Electronics Limited.
The sanctions, which are in line with previous measures imposed by other countries, including the United States, prohibit Japanese companies from exporting products to these firms.
U.S. officials allege that China is supporting Russia's military actions in Ukraine by supplying drones and missile technology for Moscow's largest military build-up since the Soviet era.
