As part of measures to strengthen the border with Belarus, Latvia plans to build fences even in swamps.

This was stated by Latvian Interior Minister Rihards Kozlovskis during a visit to the eastern Latvian border, Delfi reports.

The minister noted that the construction of the fence on the land part of the border is planned to be completed this year, and on the marshes - next year. In the swampy areas, the barriers will be placed, for example, on pontoons.
