Jul 11, 2023

NATO leaders at the summit condemned Russia's nuclear rhetoric and warned that any use of nuclear weapons by Russia would have serious consequences.

This is stated in the communiqué of the NATO summit in Vilnius, according to a correspondent of Yevropeiska Pravda.

The leaders noted that Russia is modernizing its nuclear forces, including large stockpiles of long-range weapons, and expanding its latest and most advanced dual-use delivery systems.

"It is unacceptable that Russia is using such dual-use systems to attack civilians and critical civilian infrastructure in Ukraine," the communiqué said.

The leaders condemned Russia's announced intention to deploy nuclear weapons and systems capable of carrying nuclear weapons on the territory of Belarus. According to them, this once again demonstrates how Russia's repeated actions undermine strategic stability and overall security in the Euro-Atlantic region.

"We condemn Russia's irresponsible nuclear rhetoric. Russia's actions demonstrate a posture of strategic intimidation and underscore the ongoing need for NATO to monitor all these developments and adapt its posture as necessary," the leaders emphasized.
