According to Ukrinform, this was reported by Reuters.

It is noted that Niger has withdrawn its participation in the EU program aimed at strengthening local security forces.

The EUCAP Sahel Niger civilian mission was launched in 2012 to help the country's security forces fight militants and other threats. According to the mission's website, about 120 Europeans are permanently working there.

The junta of Niger, which came to power in a coup in July this year, also demanded the withdrawal of French troops who helped fight Islamist militants.
