Orban boasts that he knows Russians better than anyone else
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban claims that there are very few people in the world who know more about Russia than Hungarians and himself.
He said this in an interview with the German newspaper Bild.
Orban said that he understands Russia particularly well. The Hungarian prime minister, among the leaders of the EU countries, maintains the closest relations with the aggressor state, and Hungary regularly slows down European sanctions against Russia.
"There are very few people in the world who know more about Russia than the Hungarians and especially their prime minister," Viktor Orban said.
"I know Russians. They are different from us. They have different histories, a different culture, different instincts, and views. They have a different understanding of freedom and a different understanding of national sovereignty," the Hungarian prime minister added in an interview about his visit to Moscow and talks with Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin.
