Pentagon reveals contents of new defense package for Ukraine
The new package of military aid from the United States includes at least a dozen weapons and ammunition items that will be sent to Ukraine immediately.
This is stated in an official Pentagon statement, Ukrinform reports.
"Today, the Ministry of Defense announced additional assistance to meet Ukraine's critical security and defense needs. This is the 39th provision of weapons from the Department of Defense warehouses to Ukraine since August 2021," the statement said.
It is specified that the new military support package will include additional missiles for the Patriot air defense system, AIM-7 anti-aircraft missiles, Avenger air defense systems, Stinger anti-aircraft systems, and Zuni air defense missiles.
In addition, the list includes missiles for HIMARS systems, 155 mm and 105 mm artillery shells, 105 mm tank ammunition, precision aviation ammunition, ammunition for UAVs, and AT-4 anti-tank systems.
The Pentagon is also providing the Ukrainian Armed Forces with more than 30 million rounds of small arms ammunition, demining equipment and systems, explosive munitions for obstacle removal, night vision devices, spare parts, generators, and other field equipment.
The total value of the new defense support package is about $300 million.
