He said this during the great military oath at the celebration of the 16th Mechanized Division on the Grunwald Fields, Ukrinform reports citing Polish Radio.

"The Polish army, Mariusz Blaszczak is convinced, will be the strongest land army in Europe," the report says.

The minister pointed out the importance of deterring the aggressor so that Russia does not dare to enter Poland.

"And if we add the fact that every inch of Polish land is defended by the Polish Army, we have a guarantee of the security of our homeland," the defense minister emphasized.

About 850 soldiers took the oath of allegiance at the 16th Mechanized Division's celebration on the Grunwald Fields, Polish Radio adds.

As reported, last year in March, the law "On the Defense of the Fatherland" came into force in Poland. It provides, in particular, for a twofold increase in the number of the country's Armed Forces - up to 300 thousand - and an increase in defense spending to 3% of GDP in 2023.

In addition to increasing the number of troops, the Polish army is being technically modernized and equipped with modern equipment. In particular, we are talking about Abrams and K2 tanks, Korean FA-50 light combat aircraft, ordered American F-35 fighters, etc.
