“Republicans for Ukraine” information campaign launched in the US

Aug 16, 2023

An information campaign has been launched in the United States to persuade Republican Party supporters to support Ukraine in repelling Russia's full-scale military aggression. The initiative is called "Republicans for Ukraine".

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the authors of the campaign, the organization Defending Democracy Together.

The budget of the campaign is $2 million, and it started on Tuesday and will last until the end of the year.

During this period, first-person testimonial ads will be shown on cable and network television, as well as in digital format on YouTube, in which Republican voters will call for support for Ukraine directly on camera.

The ads will be featured on 10 billboards in Milwaukee during the first Republican presidential debate there on August 23. They will also air nationally on Fox News during the debate.

The release says that the campaign's goal is to remind Americans of the importance of supporting Ukraine and not to abandon the fight for freedom.

“Too many of the party’s leaders seem to think there’s no penalty to be paid for standing against Ukrainian democracy and America’s role in supporting the fight for freedom. We’re here to remind them that there are a lot of Republicans across the country who stand with Ukraine,” said Gunner Ramer, national spokesman for Republicans for Ukraine.

As a reminder, the 60th US presidential election will take place on November 5, 2024. So far, more than 15 politicians have filed their candidacies. However, the main candidates are still Joe Biden and Donald Trump.
